Youth restaurant
Everyone carries a story to tell. And the first chapters of one of Saigon’s oldest family-style Vietnamese restaurants were written in the final days of 1989…
Built by the hands and dedication of Ms. Ba and her children, grandchildren, and siblings, Thanh Niên Restaurant has welcomed more than three million guests over the past 36 years. Many of those who stood in the kitchen from the very beginning are still here today, cooking sour fish soup, simmering clay-pot dishes, frying crispy spring rolls, and preparing hearty Southern hotpots every single day.
From a humble ‘breakfast stall’ to a full-fledged ‘restaurant’ serving dishes seasoned with the unmistakable warmth of home, Thanh Niên Restaurant has long been known as “the place for a home-cooked meal when you’re away from home.”
